Business/Employers and Trade Unions in Agriculture trough a dialogue and actions for sustainable management of the challenges /crisis in the sector.

Agriculture is among the most dynamically developing sectors in terms of technological modernization, robotization and implemented policies. Digital and green transformation pose new challenges for the sector and its key players. The workforce in Agriculture is quantitatively inadequate, but also critical as skills and competencies. Digital transition and tackling climate change place high skills requirements on all workers in the sector – employed, seasonal and family workers, farmers, and also put serious social pressure on them. This creates collisions in public discussions on important policies in the sector and in decision-making and creates crises. Understandable and workable synergy between the Green Deal, the Common Agricultural Policy and other policies in the context of digital transition and innovation is needed in order to develop and create quality knowledge-based jobs throughout the food chain. Social dialogue and partnership are proven to be an effective crisis management tool. In the sector there are historical traditions of partnership between the social partners - also partners in this project. Social dialogue enables the Green Deal to be presented and understood as a process and shared as a common public understanding. This project will open the potential of the partnership to promote civic participation in the design, implementation and monitoring of policies in the sector by filling with new content of the Sectoral Council for Social Dialogue and giving a clear understanding of the concept of sustainability among all stakeholders. It will complement the discussion and influence policies in the sector related to the labour market, health and safety at work, training and qualification of the workforce, professions and skills oriented towards the future and ensuring attractiveness and sustainability of the sector and social justice for its employees. The planned activities will result in important and shared recommendations for actions.
