"Higher Civic Participation - More Security and Responsibility at the Local Level"

The project is aimed at the following target groups: 1. Municipality of Koprivshtitsa, as well as its employees 2. Local NGOs, as well as their employees 3. Local Public The main aim of the project is to promote transparent and partnership-based management to improve road safety in the municipality of Koprivshtitsa by supporting the active participation of citizens and NGOs in the implementation and monitoring of the local policy in this area The structure of the project includes: - Conducting a study of the current situation and existing successful practices related to improving civic participation in the implementation and monitoring of road safety policies, and preparing an analysis of the possibilities for implementing such practices in the Municipality of Koprivshtitsa - Development of a Mechanism for civic participation in the implementation and monitoring of the road safety policy in the municipality of Koprivshtitsa with accompanying sample Methodology for ensuring accountability and civil control over the implementation of the Municipal Road Safety Program 2021-2023 - Preliminary impact assessment of the Mechanism - Preparation of a Guide for joint organization and implementation of information and training campaigns and initiatives on road safety among the public, children and students in the municipality of Koprivshtitsa - A comprehensive information campaign The project will provide the necessary conditions for building a clear and unified model of organization of the communication and interaction between local administration and NGOs and citizens in Koprivshtitsa municipality regarding the implementation and monitoring of road safety policy. The project products will outline a framework and way of action by the administration to ensure a high level of transparency and coherence in the implementation of this policy. As well as, they will expand the opportunities for direct participation of citizens and NGOs in this process
