The main goal of the project is to increase civic participation in the processes of formulating policies and strategies for digital transition of municipalities in Vidin district, in accordance with the EU Strategy for the Digital Future of Europe. The specific objectives are: strengthening cooperation between local authorities, NGOs, social partners, businesses and citizens for joint decision-making supporting the digital transition; achieving open and responsible governance, joint search for solutions between citizens, businesses and local authorities in supporting the processes of digitalization and digital optimization of public services; formulation of specific recommendations for improving the processes related to the digital transition; raising awareness of the target groups in the field of digital governance at the local level. The main target groups are representatives of municipalities, NGOs, business, socio-economic partners, and other stakeholders from Vidin district. The planned activities of the project are: analysis of the readiness of municipalities for digital transition and governance in the digital society and proposals for improving the environment for civic participation in governance to support digital transition and governance in the digital society; analysis of international experience and presentation of good and international practices for increasing the participation of citizens in decision-making processes for the digitalization of local government; information campaign to increase civic participation in the implementation and monitoring of policies and legislation related to the digital transition. Expected results: enhanced cooperation between all stakeholders involved in the project; open and responsible governance; proposed solutions to support the digital transition; formulated specific recommendations allowing active involvement of citizens and businesses in local governance.
