"Early Childhood Development - Shared Care and Responsibility of Society"

The project "Early Childhood Development - Shared Care and Responsibility of Society" is a mutual proposal of the partners Worldwide Foundation for Vulnerable Children and the Institute for Sustainable Development of Law Foundation. The aim of the project is to improve the well-being of all Bulgarian children, their right to receive quality and affordable institutional and informal services. With the implementation of the planned activities we aim to contribute to increasing the active participation of NGOs in formulating and implementing policies, and to share our expertise with a network of NGOs working in the field of early childhood development. The project proposal includes monitoring of the curriculum in educational institutions for young children in 5 municipalities in the country; study of good practices and work models for provision of informal services for children in the community in 3 EU member states and in the Republic of Bulgaria; conducting a legal analysis of the regulations, presenting proposals for amendment of the legal framework and making recommendations related to the models for providing informal services in the community; conducting 5 workshops with representatives of local communities, local authorities, professionals, parents, NGOs engaged in providing informal services and information activities to increase civic participation in the implementation and monitoring of the early childhood development policies and legislation.
