Creation of means for videoconferencing and their usage in the phases of pre-trial and trial proceedings, including cross-border cooperation in the judicial area

Videoconferencing allows remote interrogation of witnesses, experts and employees in real time. Republic of Bulgaria is one of the few states that does not meet the guidelines for cross-border cooperation using means for videoconferencing. The current project envisages a detailed plan with proposed a total of 26 rooms equipped for videoconferencing and a central component in the Ministry of Justice to be prepared (Activity 1). Within Activity 2 the central component for videoconferencing at the Ministry of Justice will be build. Twenty six rooms for videoconferencing in the buildings "Justice" sector will be created (20 rooms at courts and 6 rooms at places of detention). Within the framework of Activity 3 a study of international experience will be carried out in order internal rules and / or suggestions / recommendations for regulatory changes to be prepared. Mandatory measures for information and publicity of the project will be implemented within Activity 4. The project duration is envisage to be 33 months and its budget - BGN 2 565 490,95.
