Effective mediation in the field of environmental disputes, an appropriate method for civil control and judicial system reform support.

The project "Effective mediation in the field of environmental disputes, an appropriate method for civil control and judicial system reform support" aims to assist the processes of adaptation, development and improvement of alternative methods for solving legal disputes (mediation) in the field of ecology and environmental protection. The activities and projected results are focused on analyzing and transfer of existing good practices in the field of mediation; raising public awareness and trust in mediation; the effective involvement of civil society organizations in the mediation process; improving administration processes, public information and overall effectiveness in choosing resolution through meditation; enhancing the role and potential of mediators in the field of ecology and environmental protection. Within the framework of the project implementation, the following activities will be carried out: 1. Organisation and conduction an analysis of the current situation and existing good practices in the field of mediation. 2. Preparation of an information portal for mediation, focusing on disputes of environmental issues. 3. Organisation and conduction of training for mediators, in the field of ecology and environmental protection. 4. Proposal for regulatory changes. 5. Publicity and awareness As a result of the implementation of the project, civil control over the reform of the judiciary will be stepped up and the number of actively involved NGOs will be increased, recommendations for improvement of the judiciary and best practices will be promoted, alternative methods of solving of legal disputes will be distributed.
