Citizen Participation for a Transparent and Effective Judicial System

The main objective of this project is to provide proposals for improvement of the procedures and organization of the Judiciary for speeding up the administration of justice, as well as increasing the transparency by exercising civilian control over its reform through more active involvement of NGOs in the process of developing, monitoring and evaluating reform strategies for more effective and transparent functioning of the judiciary. This overall objective is achieved through the implementation of the planned project activities, each of which leads to the achievement of the specific objectives set, as follows: - Performance of analyzes and studies related to the work of the judiciary to assess the efficiency of the work and to create a model and methodology for shortening the time for resolving cases to support the process of modernizing the system and increasing the public trust in it for the purpose of improvement in applying established procedures at different stages of court proceedings through optimization of the work processes for speeding up the administration of justice; making recommendations, including by transferring good practices for shortening the time to resolve cases, supporting the process of modernizing the system and increasing public confidence in it; effective human resource planning in the courts and an approach to assessing their performance in the workplace. - Development of a model for providing legal assistance to citizens and business in cases of severely delayed justice as a form of monitoring of the effectiveness of judicial reform and conducting information campaigns to enhance civilian control over judicial reform through a model for monitoring and control for resolution of cases within reasonable deadlines.
