Effective mediation in the field of environmental disputes, an appropriate method for civil control and judicial system reform support - upgrade

The project "Effective Mediation in the Field of Environmental Disputes, an Appropriate Method for Civil Control and Support to Judicial Reform - Upgrade" aims at supporting the processes of adaptation, development and improvement of alternative methods of solving legal disputes (mediation) in the field of ecology and environmental protection, by upgrading the already performed activities under the project BG05SFOP001-3.003-0016. Activities and expected results are focused to analyzing and transferring existing best practices in the field of mediation; implementing in practice some of the core guidelines from Recommendation No. R (2001) 9 of the EC on alternatives to litigation between administrative authorities and private parties and other analytical documents with proposed good practices explored in the analyzes prepared at the first stage of the project; raising public awareness and trust in mediation through initiating an information campaign and public debate; effective involvement of NGO organizations in the mediation process; improving administration processes, public information and overall effectiveness in choosing dispute resolution through meditation; enhancing the role and potential of mediators in the field of ecology and environmental protection; creating a set of standard documents to facilitate access to mediation on environmental disputes. As a result of the implementation of the project, civil control over the reform of the judicial system will be increased; the achieved results will be upgraded; publicity will be widely communicated as an alternative to litigation; the administration with be supported with prepared standard documents and forms for mediation in environmental disputes; the judicial system will be relieved of disputes that could be resolved through mediation; Alternative dispute resolution methods will be popularized aiming to improve the judiciary and good European and world practices will be applied.
