An electronic platform for active dialogue, civil monitoring and public support to judicial reform

The project aims at enhancing of civil control over the reform of the judiciary as well as increasing the number of NGOs actively involved in this process. A public e-platform will be developed to help citizens, judiciary authorities and organizations working in the judiciary system. Thus, on the one hand, the public dialogue on a more accessible and transparent judicial system will be activated, and confidence and public support for reforms in the court system will be enhanced. On the other hand, good practices for civil monitoring of court-administered measures of transparency, accessibility and independence will be promoted. The platform will be open to the involvement of the judiciary, professional organizations working in the judiciary system, non-governmental organizations, informal groups and citizens throughout the country. It will also be a place to exchange useful information that citizens are currently finding it difficult to achieve, namely: providing people from vulnerable groups with access to court rooms to participate in proceedings to which they are parties or summoned as witnesses and / or participants; the use of legal aid by citizens in court proceedings; the application of alternative methods for solving legal disputes - including mediation and arbitration techniques, mediation and conciliation processes, etc. The platform will also contribute to building positive results from a previous project of the leading civil monitoring organization of the court in Shumen. The civil monitoring system, developed under it, will be developed and implemented by active NGOs in the town of Pernik, among which is the partner organization of the project. It will organize civil monitoring on the work of the Pernik Regional Court and will help to involve the court and other organizations in the electronic platform created for this project for active dialogue, civic monitoring and public support for the reform of the judiciary.
