General Objective: Increased transparency and acceleration of judiciary in the Republic of Bulgaria through improvement and development of mediation for resolving legal disputes Specific objectives: 1. Improvement and development of mediation 2. Acceleration of justice and facilitation of the judicial system through research and transfer of good practices from other EU countries to improve the mediation process 3. Effective civil control and increased transparency in the judiciary of the Republic of Bulgaria through the promotion and development of mediation 4. Improvement of procedural laws and introduction of mediation as a compulsory procedural prerequisite in the legal disputes before starting a court procedure. The objectives of the project will be achieved through a combination of activities and results that directly correspond to the identified needs and problems of the target groups. The implementation of the planned activities will contribute to the improvement of the mechanisms of transparency and acceleration of the judiciary in the Republic of Bulgaria by improving and developing the mediation and defining it as a mandatory procedural prerequisite before starting a court procedure. This will significantly facilitate the work of the judiciary institutions, as well as improve the quality, efficiency and timing of the administrative and judicial services offered to citizens and businesses. Research and transfer of good European practices in mediation will be carried out in order to create an accelerated, modern and fair judiciary in resolving legal disputes. The results will lead to effective civil control and concrete proposals for legislative changes, as well as to creating the necessary conditions for direct participation of citizens in the process of resolving legal disputes, which will increase the transparency and public confidence in the system of justice and the judiciary in Bulgaria.
