Improvement of the capacity of the participants in the the out-of-court mediation agreements

General objective of the project proposal: Encouraging the development and application of the mediation as an alternative method for resolving legal disputes Specific objectives: - Improving the process of justice in Bulgaria by defining opportunities for legislative amendments towards including the mediation as a first step in resolving disputes. - Increasing the efficiency of the work of the institutions of the judiciary and the mediation centers. - Increasing the public confidence in law enforcement in Bulgaria. The objectives of the project will be achieved through focused activities and results of their implementation, which are in line with both the identified needs as well as are aimed at solving the outlined problems of the target groups. The goals set, defined activities and expected results are in full compliance with the objectives of the procedure. The implementation of the planned activities will contribute to the improvement of the overall process of justice in Bulgaria, which in principle begins with the identification of the needs for legislative amendment to facilitate this process. A key element in this process is the inclusion of alternative methods for resolving legal disputes in an out-of-court format and, in particular, promoting the application of mediation procedures as a first, even mandatory, stage of dispute resolution. Another important element is the active involvement of the non-governmental sector and civil society as a catalyst for the whole process of large-scale implementation of out-of-court dispute resolution procedures. NGOs are conductors of ideas that benefit the society, and in this case the advantages of mediation will be promoted as a proven worldwide method for resolving legal disputes, both administratively and resource-wise - financially and time-saving for citizens and business. In this way, the trust in the law enforcement and judicial system in Bulgaria will increase.
