The guarantees of the rule of law - a path to a more independent and transparent judiciary.

The project aims to create more guarantees for the observance of one of the fundamental principles in the rule of law and the welfare state - the rule of law. For the implementation of this main goal through the project will be raised awareness, and through it the trust of citizens in the judiciary, which provides these guarantees. This, on the one hand, requires activities to disseminate information to the public about constitutionally guaranteed human and civil rights. On the other hand, literacy activities are needed so that citizens are well acquainted with the powers of the police, the investigation, the prosecution and the courts, as bodies guaranteeing the rule of law and the protection of human and civil rights. Knowing their functions, citizens will control them more effectively, which in turn will ensure greater transparency and independence of these bodies in the judiciary. In the process of providing guarantees, it is important not to neglect the role of the bar as a free, independent and self-governing system, outside the judiciary, which also ensures and guarantees the right to protection of citizens' rights. The project will study and promote the practices of lawyers, mediators and judges in our country related to the protection of citizens' rights. High public awareness of fundamental human and civil rights and guarantees for their protection, through the judiciary and the bar, does not exclude the promotion of alternative out-of-court methods for settling legal disputes, such as mediation and arbitration. Citizens' knowledge and use of these methods also ensures the protection of their rights, outside the judiciary, and this is another guarantee of the rule of law.
