Functioning of Regional Information Centre in Municipality of Blagoevgrad

The Regional Information Centre (RIC) in Municipality of Blagoevgrad started to operate in 2012 as part of the national network of 28 Information Centres for the promotion of the Cohesion policy of EU in Bulgaria. The Regional Information Centre works in close and active cooperation with Managing Authorities and Intermediate Bodies assisting them to carry through the territory of the District of Blagoevgrad different information campaigns. The Regional Information Centre co-operates with local authorities and municipal administrations of the 14 municipalities of the district, Labour Offices, the Regional Inspectorate of Education, South - West University – Blagoevgrad, schools and local business, in order to increase their information and knowledge about the financing opportunities, offered by the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF). The Regional Information Centre works in successful partnership with the regional print and electronic media. The current project proposal will upgrade the achieved awareness of the community about EU structural and investment funds and programmes in implementing the objectives of the National Communication Strategy for the 2014-2020 programming period and the Partnership Agreement. Its implementation will develop and maintain the capacity of the RIC, in order to expand the scope of information provided to the general public in the new period, not only for the operational programmes, but also for the Rural Development Programme (RDP) and the Programme "Maritime and fisheries" (PMAF). The functioning of RIC in the Municipality of Blagoevgrad will provide for legitimate and full access to information for the financing opportunities, offered by ESIF to all social, ethnic and age groups. Generally, the implementation of the project will facilitate citizens to find their way in the variety of financing opportunities for different kind of activities, submitting to them current, complete and accurate information.
