Lovech District Information Point (LDIP) is a part of the network of 27 District information points in Bulgaria, aiming at popularizing the EU Cohesion policy in Bulgaria. It was established under a project, financed under the “Technical Assistance” Operational Programme, co-financed by the ERDF,with the Lovech Municipality being the beneficiary. The Lovech Municipality’s present project proposal is developed under the Priority Axis 4, call for proposals BG05SFOP001-4.001 “Providing the operation of the national network of 27 DIPs” of the Operational Programme “Good Governance”(OPGG) 2014-2020. It aims at effective functioning of the LDIP and increasing the public awareness on the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) funding opportunities. The project contributes to the implementation of the goals of the National Communication Strategy and the Partnership Agreement. Providing the activities of the Lovech DIP until the end of 2018 will further develop the capacity and partnerships already established and guarantee the project sustainability. Lovech DIP provides full, transparent and free access to information on the ESIF co-funded programmes, current and forthcoming calls for proposals and good project examples, available for all social, ethnic and age groups of people in Lovech region. The data is disseminated through visits, meetings, press-conferences, events and by phone, e-mail and post. The DIP’s activities reach all potential beneficiaries in Lovech District, encouraging their active participation in different project initiatives, supported by the EU. Enhancing the LDIP’s activities will contribute to the sustainable development of the region and increase the public awareness on the DIP’s key role in the region for the 2014-2020 period. The DIP’s functioning will increase people’s participation in different calls for proposals under the ESIF co-funded programs, thus increasing transparency of the EU funding process and gaining public confidence.
