Since 2012 has functioned a network of 28 information centers for the promotion of the EU Cohesion Policy in Bulgaria - Blagoevgrad, Burgas, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Vidin, Vratsa, Gabrovo, Dobrich, Kardzhali, Kyustendil, Lovech, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pernik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Razgrad, Ruse, Silistra, Sliven, Smolyan, Sofia, Stara Zagora, Targovishte, Haskovo, Shumen, Yambol and the Central Information and coordination Office (CICO). The 27 Regional Information Centers (RIC) operate on the principle “one stop” and they work actively with Managing authorities as they assist them in the implementation of information campaigns in the districts. The network collaborates actively with local governments, labor offices and regional inspectorates of education, universities and secondary education schools to raise awareness of the opportunities that are provided by EU structural and investment funds (EUSIF). In the period 2007-2013 the network, including RIC Vratsa, was providing information on funding opportunities for programs financed by the Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund (SCF) of the EU. In the period 2015 - 2023 the network and RIC Vratsa will provide information and will promote the EUSIF. The grant provided for the functioning of Vratsa RIC contributes to the overall objectives of the National Communication Strategy for the 2014-2020 programming period, namely: • Promote the role of the EU and provide information on opportunities for funding programs; • Ensure maximum transparency in the implementation and management of programs; • Building and maintaining a high public confidence in the processes of implementation EUSIF.
