“Providing for and supporting the AFCOS Directorate activities with regard to its work under the European Structural and Investment funds”

The implementation of the current financial plan will ensure that the employees of AFCOS Directorate, working in ESIF matters shall: 1. receive modern technical equipment for the effective implementation of their duties on the protection of the financial interests of the EU in exercising their control functions over ESIF matters; 2. actively participate in organized events and exchanges of best practices on ESIF matters organized by the European institutions and the competent institutions in the MS, as well as in trainings on ESIF matters; 3. carry out administrative investigations and on-the-spot checks, independently or jointly with OLAF on projects financed by the EISF; 4. conduct internal trainings aimed at building the administrative capacity of AFCOS employees, working on the ESIF. The implementation of the financial plan will enable the structures with criminal investigative functions to get acquainted with the investigative functions of OLAF; the employees from AFCOS will get familiar with good investigation practices regarding crimes of spending EU funds. The implementation of the financial plan will safeguard the horizontal policies regarding public procurement and equality between men and women. The number of staff in the Directorate (also in the Ministry of Interior) is not divided to quotas by gender. The principle of non-discrimination is safeguarded during application and recruitment of new employees as regards to gender, race, ethnicity, religion, disabilities, age or sexual orientation. In all cases for relevant criteria serves the education possessed, qualifications and work experience required for the position. The implementation of the financial plan foresees the conducting of 6 public procurements, meeting the requirements of The Public Procurement Act and it’s Rules of application.
