Yambol District Information Point is part of a network of 27 Information Centres, set up to raise public awareness of the effective and efficient use of the Structural and Cohesion Funds in Bulgaria. Since its inception in 2012, the DIP-Yambol has become a reliable and secure source of information for the beneficiaries and citizens of Yambol District. At the centre, queries are received on a daily basis for funding opportunities under the various Operational Programmes, which proves the need for the citizens of Yambol District to have reliable and correct information about European funds and programmes. In pursuance of the objectives of the National Communication Strategy and the Partnership Agreement, this project will build on the knowledge gained for European funding, with the DIP-Yambol knowingly and purposefully working to increase transparency in programmes implementation and management, while continuing to build broad public trust and support. This will be done through information campaigns tailored to the specific needs of the area and the target groups, dissemination of information on EU policies, collection and dissemination of information and promotion of best practices in relation to the ESIF, cooperation with the Managing Authorities of the Operational Programmes, providing specific information to potential beneficiaries on the opportunities to apply for programmes co-funded by the ESIF. As a result, the inhabitants of Yambol District will be aware of the opportunities that EU funds provide, as well as of the impact that the country, the region, the community or the individual will have on the implementation of individual priorities, measures or projects. The implementation of the project will respect and take into account horizontal policies - promoting equality between men and women, non-discrimination, sustainable development and partnership.
