Raising farmers' knowledge and skills in the area of perennial crops, vegetables, arable crops and livestock production.

The project addresses the needs of agricultural producers and their employees. The Agricultural University of Plovdiv offers courses, which will enable them to apply in practice cultivation technologies in crop production, vegetable growing, perennial crops, as well as in the area of livestock farming, according to the conditions of the respective region. The acquired knowledge and practical skills will contribute to the development of the agricultural sector by increasing the economic growth of the farmers’ enterprises, enlarging the cultivated area in accordance with the Community standards of labour safety requirements and environmental protection, by carrying out the relevant investments, as well as transfer to organic farming. Training in the 150-hour and 30-hour courses under the Measure ‘Vocational training, information activities and dissemination of scientific knowledge’ will help the farmers who have not completed specialized secondary or higher education in agriculture, veterinary medicine or agricultural economics. One of the modules in the proposed course fully complies with the requirements and standards of maintaining land in good agricultural and environmental condition, developed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, according to the Agricultural Producers Support Act. Training in the 18-hour and 8-hour seminar courses will present to the participants the good practices used in sustainable land management and in agricultural production of different crops and livestock.
