From the traditions of Bulgarian agriculture towards a modern economy with higher qualification and competitiveness

The project proposal focuses on improvement of the professional qualification and the building of relevant skills through state-of-the-art education in efficient vegetable production, for Bulgarian farmers and those employed in the agricultural regions. The need for professional qualification is of a key importance to farmers to achieve competitiveness on the Bulgarian and European markets.The proposal aims to facilitate the systematic improvement of professional human resources in Bulgaria. It offers solutions applicable to global agricultural challenges through structured education, and the transfer of knowledge and innovations. Combination of solid taught theory with field practice on the proposed topics will aid farmers in improving their skills and knowledge to prepare them for a competitive agribusiness. It stands as a crucial link between agricultural businesses, the food sector and research institutions, with an emphasis on environmental management and sustainable goals. The project proposal responds directly to the Lisbon Strategy priorities, as it contributes to regional economic improvement, based on structured and continued human resource development. The proposed educational package of training, best practices and experience provided, will inevitably aid the sustainable development of the Bulgarian agriculture sector.
