Development and popularization of "Association for short supply chain "Otbrani" Ltd.

The project includes activities for development and promotion of the Association for short supply chain "Defense" at a total value of BGN 167,470.00. The Union includes three agricultural farms from the village of Medovina, Popovo municipality, which grow a total of 485.90 decares of raspberries and produce an average of 97.18 tons per year. By developing a short supply chain with a minimum number of economic operators in it, "Defense" Ltd. aims to realize sales of at least 36 tons of fresh raspberries within the project. The project envisages farmers to transport their raspberry production by refrigerator truck, directly after they have been harvested and cooled for 2 hours in a warehouse in the village of Medovina, to their own retail outlet for direct retail sale in Sofia. The Union's cooperation project aims to reduce the time for fresh products to reach customers. The lack of intermediaries in the chain will significantly reduce the final selling price. The association for short supply chain "Defense" will allow a huge number of consumers from Sofia to buy fresh raspberries directly, as the market segment will be mainly residents of the eastern districts / Mladost, Druzhba, Slatina, etc./ Thus, the short supply chain will ensure economic viability of farmers on the one hand, and access to quality and healthy Bulgarian product at an affordable price. The Project includes two activities: Activity 1 - providing a project team, renting an office and delivering its equipment in order to provide three work places, business trips of the members of the Association in connection with the activity and functioning of the short supply chain. Activity 2 - Activities to promote the project and its results, which will acquaint a wide range of stakeholders with the principle of operation and advantages of the short supply chain and the activities of the Association.
