Preservation and development of the local cultural heritage and traditions by elaboration of folklore costumes for preparation and presentation of the folk music and dance performance "Babinden in Velingrad"

The Babinden holiday is the biggest winter holiday in Velingrad and the region. The tradition of the holiday is associated with a number of rituals and rituals in which folklore occupies an important place. The project envisages the preparation, implementation and installation of a musical-dance folklore production based on Velingrad's custom Babinden. The choreography will be developed on the basis of typical folk songs and people accompanying the Babinden holiday and the various moments in it - "welcoming and watering the grandmother", "calling the child", "grandmother's jogging" and the joy of the genus. In the choreography will be included singers - men, women, children, folk orchestra, dancers - men, women, children. The play will have a minimum duration of 10 minutes and no longer than 25 minutes. Velingrad is a crossroad between Thrace, Pirin and due to different historical circumstances, there are settlers from Pazardzhik, Mesta river and Razlog valley. All this is determined by the diversity in song-dance folklore and clothing. The area is migratory and therefore the costumes that are worn are typical of the places where the migrants themselves - Pazardzhik, Mesta River and Razlogo valleys come. The project envisages the production of male, female and children's costumes typical of the area, which are necessary for the presentation of the play. The design and the elaboration of typical folk costumes for the region greatly contribute to the preservation and popularization of the cultural heritage of the Velingrad region, to acquainting and transmitting the long-standing tradition of the younger generation.
