The project proposal provides for study, description, preservation and promotion of the intangible (cultural) heritage in the region of Svilengrad Municipality and more precisely in 5 villages (Mezek, Siva River, Shtit, Momkovo, Levka) where it is still alive. Thanks to the local chitalishte on the ground, this cultural heritage is preserved and distributed. They keep all this living cultural heritage, identifying them as residents of a particular settlement or region. Still in these villages there are elderly people who carry the region-specific culture that is part of our national intangible cultural heritage. It is these people with a rich life experience that can be a valuable source of information. It is well-known that the word spoken leaves, and what is written remains. Therefore, the idea is after the planned training of the people who will study, describe and record the preserved and orally preserved traditional knowledge in the 5 villages mentioned above, an expert (related to the preservation of the cultural heritage of the region), to review, summarize and prepare for printing the text and the pictorial material in a separate booklet. Thus, through the described traditional customs, songs, costumes, dishes, through the presented color photographs, one can outline the specifics of each of the 5 villages.
