"Preserved Heritage for Future Generations"

The project proposal provides for activities related to exploration and promotion of local cultural heritage. By means of meetings - talks with residents of the villages Kapitan Andreevo, Sladun and Raikova mogila located on the territory of Svilengrad municipality, local stories, games and crafts, customs and traditions will be explored. The study aims to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the living cultural heritage and to assist in its presence in people's lives and to document it. After the meetings - talks, the information will be summarized and analyzed by the experts of the established partner network and will be given for printing of the book "Forgotten Stories". The project envisages a study of the life and work of Peter Stanchov and the printing of a booklet. Peter Stanchov is the principal teacher in Svilengrad in 1874-1875 and a godfather of the city, one of the activities of the project is to re-publish the poems collection" Immortal Epopeans "produced by the local poet and journalist Petar Rakovski. The book recreates the tragic events in Svilengrad during the Balkan War. A "Month of the Book" event is planned to be held in 4 modules, each module being dedicated to a different theme. The event will be held in the town of Svilengrad and in 2 other villages on the territory of the municipality. A meeting will be held - a conversation with students from the State University "Dr Petar Beron" - Svilengrad, on the topic "500 years Svilengrad". The meeting will present short stories about events related to the history of Svilengrad and the region, the lives of the local population in the past with a view to acquainting young people. In connection with the realization of the project activities is envisaged the purchase of equipment-rechargeable mobile speaker; camera; information roll-banners.
