Community Centre "Otets Paisiy - 1919" is the biggest cultural institution on the territory of the Municipality of Sandanski. The Community Centre has various cultural formations where people of different ages, gender and ethnicity „create” culture, preserve and promote the unique and diverse cultural heritage of the region on both national and international level. The town library at Community Centre is the largest repository of books in the region. In 2019, the institution will celebrate its 100th years anniversary under the slogan "A lighthouse of century-old wisdom and traditions". The primary objective of the present project proposal is to support the development of culture and cultural life in the region of Sandanski by facilitating access to culture and creating conditions for expanding the scope and quality of existing cultural events and the development of new ones in all settlements of the region. In this aspect, the main activities of the project are aimed at modernising the available technical equipment of the administration of both the Community Centre and the town library. The main purpose of the envisaged modernisation is to enhance everyday work of the employees and members of the Community Centre, as well as to improve the quality of the services offered by the cultural institution to the citizens and guests of the municipality of Sandanski. The purchase of a modern and mobile sound system will allow for the organisation of various cultural events and activities, both indoors and outdoors. The new equipment will establish the necessary pre-conditions for implementing more and diverse cultural activities, improve the quality of existing events and facilitate the access to culture for a wider auditory of citizens and guests of the region of Sandanski. In general, the implementation of the project will contribute to the improvement of the quality and thus contribute to the economic growth and diversification of rural areas.
