Rehabilitation of Public Green Areas in the Villages of Stambolovo and Michaltsi, Pavlikeni Municipality

With the project public green areas will be rehabilitated; they are public municipal property in Stambolovo and Mihaltsi villages, Pavlikeni municipality, the aim is to improve the public infrastructure. The property in Mihaltsi covers area of 1800 sq.m. In the centre of the green area there is a small memorial – a stone monument, 6 m high and 2 m wide; it is made of big white stone squares, the front and back sides of which have commemorative plaques with the names of the locals, who lost their lives in the wars. The pavement around is much amortised. The rest of the property is grassland. The area around the monument and the access alleys will be rehabilitated; decorative plants will be added. The designed green areas cover natural terrain. The monument, commemorative plaques and square area will be renovated, new pavement and alleys will be made. It is envisaged a new alley to be made having a small lay-by with benches. The existing vegetation is in a good condition and it will be preserved. New trees and bushes will be planted. In the centre of Stambolovo a public area and a playground will be rehabilitated. The property is 3000 sq.m. The playground with impact-absorbent covering will have new facilities for children from 3 to 12 years, which comply with the legislative safety requirements, BSS EN 1176 “Facilities for playgrounds”, incl. Ordinance №2, 12 January 2009. New alleys with kerbsides will be constructed around it. There will be a small rest nook with benches, pergolas and fountain in the centre, pavement made of vibrocompressed colored concrete paving stones. It is not planned to remove the old well trees, except for those in poor condition. New trees and bushes will add to the old groups – various kinds of new plants having different blossom color and flowering time. The green areas at both sites will be entirely covered with grass anew. The renovated village infrastructure will be again an attractive centre for the locals and the guests.
