Exploring, preserving and promoting local culinary traditions and food as part of the cultural heritage of the territory

The project proposal focuses on the problem of the need to preserve cultural identity and traditions in the territory of the municipality of Yablanitsa and in particular the local culinary traditions and food as part of the cultural heritage of the territory. Yablanitsa is known for its traditional halvah and locum. The villages of the municipality also have characteristic traditions related to the preparation of food for the occasion of holidays and ceremonies, which should be preserved for generations. This heritage has considerable potential to be valorized for local economic development through its inclusion in various forms of tourism and visits. The main support centers for the preservation of the local cultural heritage on the territory are the community centers. The proposal includes activities related to the provision of technical equipment for shared use by community centers in the territory of Yablanitsa municipality, purchase of folk costumes and instruments, conducting a study of the local traditional culinary heritage on the territory of the settlements in the municipality of Yablanitsa, organizing a halvah holiday and the locum in the town of Yablanitsa, which will become traditional, as well as the production of materials for visualization and promotion of the holiday. As a result of the project implementation and the activities carried out, the culinary heritage on the territory of Yablanitsa Municipality will be preserved and promoted, as well as its transformation into a factor for local development. The benefits of the implementation of the project activities will be for a very wide range of the inhabitants of the territory, insofar as the activities affect most settlements in the municipality of Yablanitsa. The results of the project, due to their nature, will be visible and with great publicity.
