Meet the cultures of Central Strandzha

The project Meet the Cultures of Central Strandzha consists of studying and documenting authentic folklore in the region of Sredets municipality Central Strandja. After a thorough study of the material and nomaterial cultural heritage of the region, video clips of recorded local customs will be taken and then information materials will be developed and disseminated to preserve the culture and traditions of the local population. The video and information materials developed will meet the young generation, the guests of the municipality and everyone who wants to get acquainted with the local traditions and customs that are still preserved in some of the villages in Sredets municipality. The customs that will be studied and captured are Kukerovden in the town of Sredets and the ancient German fertility tradition, which is still carried out in the village Momina carkva, Sredets municipality. The project aims at exploring, documenting and popularizing the rich material and intangible cultural heritage in today's society.
