"The bagpipe - from the Thracians till present"

The project aims at contributing to the diversification of the local tourist supply by promoting bagpipe art as a symbol of the cultural heritage of the Rhodopes and involving young people in awareness raising activities related to local natural resources and their preservation as part of the natural heritage of the region. The project target groups are: • The performers of the bagpipe ensemble “Delyo Haydutin”, Zlatograd - 30 children and young people up to 29; • Children and young people up to 29 years from Zlatograd - 80 persons who will participate in a lecture and an open lesson; • Other participants in the project events - participants from the bagpipe ensemble "Delyo Haydutin" and other dance and singing formations, local population from the municipalities Zlatograd and Kirkovo, tourists, guests - at least 800 people. The main activities are: organization and conducting of two folklore concerts of the bagpipe ensemble "Delyo Haydutin" under the title "The bagpipe -from the Thracians to the present" in Zlatograd and in the area "the Stone town", municipality Kirkovo; conducting a lecture for 40 children and young people on the topic "The history of the bagpipe from the Thracians to present"; conducting an open lesson for 40 students in the Rock-cult complex, Kirkovo municipality on the topic: "Natural rock phenomena and Thracian sanctuaries - part of the local natural heritage". The planned events will contribute to the preservation of local traditions and folklore, to the promotion of bagpipes as an instrument known for centuries in our lands, to attract young people to the bagpipe arts, to diversify tourist activities. The connection between the natural and cultural heritage of the region will be emphasized, young people will become better acquainted with the local natural resources and cultural traditions and the importance of their preservation for future generations and for local tourist development.
