K3 Ultra Marathon

The unique wealth of Zlatograd Municipality is a combination of several factors. A feature of our region is the unique combination of natural and cultural-historical resources. The pure nature and beauty of the Rhodope Mountains, the presence of NATURA 2000 sites and breathtaking views, combined with the rich cultural and historical heritage, create opportunities for the development of nature and eco tourism. On the other hand, these opportunities are poorly promoted and used. The K3 Ultra Ogranization provides for the organization and conduct of a K3 Ultra marathon , on the territory of the Municipality of Zlatograd, and other municipalities. The purpose of the project proposal is to use the available natural, cultural and historical assets for the development of natural and ecological tourism by organizing and promoting a sports competition on mountain routes in the Rhodope Mountains. During the competition, which begins and ends in the southernmost city of Bulgaria, each participant will have the opportunity to discover the secrets of the unknown beauty of the eternal Rhodopes. K3Ultra aims to attract tourists from the country and abroad through the promotion of the local natural heritage, which will help to develop a new type of tourism on the territory of the LAG Kirkovo-Zlatograd - nature and eco tourism. The project proposal envisages supporting the promotion of K3 Ultra through the production of advertising materials: flyers and banners, purchase of starter and final packages for ultramarathoners, including medals and t-shirts for participants and volunteers. As a result of the implementation of the project activities, K3Ultra is expected to establish itself as a desirable event to attract tourists from home and abroad. This, on the one hand, will help to promote and preserve the natural heritage on the territory of the LAG, and will develop the potential of local tourism, which will contribute to improving the quality of life of the local population.
