Diversification of services of STM "Work and Safety" Ltd.

The implementation of the project submitted by “Trud and Bezopasnost” EOOD is going to create new non-agricultural services within the scope of activities of the company as a Labour Medicine Office (LMO) and the access to health services of a large group of people is going to be significantly improved. This target group comprises people are working on jobs with a high risk of job-related pulmonary diseases in the area of Local Initiative Group PRESPA (i.e. the municipalities Banite, Laki and Chepelare ) and specifically the workers at “Druzhba” and “Dzhurkovo” mines as well as the Laki Flotation Plant. Last but not least the innovative and competitive features of the new services are going to make them attractive for clients of the LMO from the whole country as well. Project activities plan for the purchase of a contemporary mobile digital fluorographic unit, which is going to be installed on a specially purchased (outside project budget) heavy load vehicle. Due to the mobile character of the equipment the new services are going to be provided on the site of the companies and the workers on jobs with a high risk of job-related pulmonary diseases in would be diagnosed on the spot without having to leave their working places. The opportunity to make this screening of the all the workers for a short time, would lead to the possibility to make effective analysis and develop Programmes for prevention and rehabilitation of the workers, which is a service very much welcomed by the employers. Another new aspect of the services of the LMO will be the opportunity to hold useful and practical training for the workers working on jobs with a high risk of job-related pulmonary diseases on prevention and mitigation of risk factors. With the project the portfolio of the services of the LMO is going to be enriched and five new sustainable jobs will be created – for a medical doctor, nurse and three engineers and at least one of the jobs will be for a person under 29 years.
