Construction of a multifunctional public space for tourist recreation and sport prophylaxis in village of Banite, Region Smolyan

The proposed project proposal foresees the construction of a multifunctional public space for tourist recreation and sport prophylaxis in the village of Banite, Region Smolyan. Due to the abundance of mineral waters, the village of Banite is a popular destination for balneological tourism and rehabilitation of diseases of the musculoskeletal system. The hospital operating at the municipal center provides specialized care and health services, but the village lacks opportunities and facilities for additional recreational activities and sports prophylaxis for the patients of the hospital, for tourists and guests of the municipality, and not least for its residents of all generations. The project is aimed at overcoming this deficit by creation of a multifunctional public space for tourist recreation and sport prevention. The space will provide opportunities to practice outdoor recreational sports and different leisure activities, and will serve as a venue for interactive recreation and communication. The terrain provided for the implementation of the intervention is located near the center of the village (10 minutes walking distance), near the main administrative and business buildings, as well as to the hospital for balneotherapy and rehabilitaion. The space will be renovated as follows: outdoor sport prophylaxis equipment will be delivered and installed; the existing flooring will be replaced with new shock absorbing flooring; replacement of existing and / or installation of new safety equipment - fence will be carried out. The whole space and sport prophylaxis facilities will be tailored to the needs of and accessible to people with disabilities. Another important element of the project is to place information billboards to provide information and pictures on tourist places and routes in Municipality of Banite.
