Black Sea Culinary Neighbourhood

The BLACK SEA CULINARY NEIGHBOURHOOD project aims to develop the territorial identity of the municipalities of Dolni Chiflik and Byala, as well as to promote this identity by valorising the local intangible cultural heritage, such as the culinary traditions. The project provides for a study of exclusive local traditional culinary recipes, their processing, characterization and digitization. It includes the important partnership with 20 rural cultural centers (chitalishte) and the local community on the territory of the LAG for the organization of the TALK TO YOUR GRANNY competition and ACADEMY FOR YOUNG CULINARY HEROES CHEF GRANNY, through which to connect the generations by preparing traditional healthy food and experiencing the emotion of this preparation. The culmination of the project will be the conduct of the Black Sea Street fest CULINARY NEIGHBORHOOD, which will present the best collected recipes, activate the agricultural producers to participate in it and promote the territorial identity by attracting a large number of local and foreign for the territory visitors. All participants presenting food from old recipes will be provided with products. The street fest will attract over 300 visitors. Information and promotional materials will be produced - culinary souvenirs, posters, flyers, banners, a film etc. A broad media coverage of the project will be provided, which will promote the territorial identity on a national and on a regional level. The Black Sea street fest CULINARY NEIGHBOURHOOD will be registered as a trade mark and a strategy will be developed for the popularization of the territorial identity, connected to this registered mark, as well as for positioning of the LAG municipalities on the culinary tourism market through the unique intangible cultural heritage of the territory.
