"The Community Center (Chitalishte) - a gateway to cultural heritage"

Within the the project an existing hall in the building of NP "Prosveta-1870" will be renovated. The style of the region will be recreated during the renovation. The hall will be used to present CHH - customs, traditions and natural resources in the municipality as part of the attractive assets for visitors. The hall will also have a kitchenette in the traditional style, which will allow visitors to get involved in the preparation and experience of typical local dishes. For the presentation of customs and traditions of higher added value, such as visual-artistic elements, the hall will be equipped with a high-quality multimedia projector and a wide automated screen. An electronic piano and sound system will also be provided to ensure and guarantee the necessary quality of the musical layout, an important element for any complete presentation of customs and traditions and authentication of the atmosphere. The investment activities will be carried out on the territory of the LIG and meet the following requirements: the definition of small-scale tourism or cultural infrastructure up to the BGN equivalent of EUR 5 million; the property is municipal property; they are implemented in accordance with the municipal development plan and agreed by the SLCLD; the envisaged activities are implemented in accordance with the program for the development of tourism on the territory of the municipality; not subject to EIA; have not been declared of real cultural value of national and global importance; they are accompanied by a description of the economic and social benefits in which it is demonstrated that the investment will lead to socio-economic development of the territory. The project, as a direct implementation, covers the territory of the town of Svilengrad. But as a result of its implementation, intangible cultural heritage, as customs and traditions, will be presented throughout the territory of the LIG Svilengrad Areal.
