"Purchase of equipment and production of folk costumes for the purpose of marketing the cultural heritage in the Municipality of Berkovitsa"

The project proposal aims to present two highly valued in the Berkovitsa region, although already forgotten holiday - "Kumichene" and "Enyovden". The holidays are deeply connected with the social development of the population around the town of Berkovitsa during the period 15 - 19 century. The two customs have their origins considerably before that, as "Midsummer's Day" according to the locals dates back to the time before Christ. The holiday is pagan, adapted to the Eastern Orthodox Church and religion after the baptism of the Bulgarian people. Kumichene is a custom celebrated in the Berkovitsa region in a special way. With this custom the population showed hierarchy and subordination, which at that time was not possible among the Bulgarians due to the political situation in the country. The implementation of the project proposal aims to resume and promote the two important rituals for the Berkovitsa region. The purchased costumes will authentically present the holidays with all their splendor. Delivery of a mobile sound system for the needs of the dance group that will perform the rituals. The rituals are performed outdoors and usually in the woods and meadows. This requires sound, which can be achieved by purchasing a mobile sound system.
