Dobrogea and Dobrogea from a common past to a common future

The project proposal was developed on the idea of LAG "Glavinitsa - Sitovo, Kraydunavska Dobrudzha" in cooperation with LAG "Local Action Group Delta Dunarii" and LAG "Local Action Group Muntii Macinului - Dunarea Veche" from Romania. The LAG „Local Action Group Delta Dunarii“ has been nominated for a leading partner of the project. The territories of the project partners are located in two neighboring districts of Bulgaria and Romania, which from ancient times to the present day are characterized by very close ties, and their population has common roots. This proximity from ancient times determines their common cultural traditions and customs, which are preserved to the present days. The territories of the project partners are characterized by an extremely rich tangible and intangible cultural heritage, passed through the time from generation to generation. Nowadays we are witnessing mass globalization process and the retreat of traditions into the background, replaced by common global trends in all areas of everyday life - life, clothing, nutrition, music, etc. In this light, there is a risk for the younger generations of these territories to leave the local cultural heritage in the background, thus jeopardizing the transmission of this treasure to the future generations. However, in the territories of the project partners the cultural traditions are still alive and there are prerequisites for their preservation and transmission to future generations.
