LEADER leaders for sustainable development of the territory of Local Initiative Group "Nevestino - Kyustendil"

The main objective of the project proposal is to create LEADER leaders for sustainable development on the territory of LIG Nevestino - Kyustendil based on the LEADER approach, local identity and local competitive advantages. The target groups of the project are: the population on the territory of the LIG; key stakeholders from NGO, government and business sectors. The needs that will be addressed through the project proposal are: - promotion of the LEADER approach; - promotion of the local identity; - popularisation and preservation of the LIG as an active subject on the target territory; - support for innovative practices. The following activities will be implemented within the project: 1. Selection and conducting of a two-day training of LEADER leaders for sustainable development of the target territory on the three priorities of the LEADER Strategy of the LIG Nevestino - Kyustendil. 2. Organising and holding in 3 consecutive days of 3 one-day thematic round tables to promote the LEADER approach and events to promote local identity by presenting the cultural-historical heritage and landmarks of the region. 3. Conducting a survey among stakeholders on the LIG Nevestino - Kyustendil territory to identify measures and activities for sustainable development of the target area in the period 2021-2027. 4. Organising and conducting a one-day Workshop with the participation of 30 representatives of stakeholders and trained LEADER leaders (39 in total) to present and discuss the results of the survey and define goals and priorities for sustainable development in the LIG Nevestino - Kyustendil in the period 2021-2027. Expected results of the project are: o Introduced innovative practices for creating LEADER leaders for the development of the target area; o Promoted LEADER approach among the population of the target area; o Popularised local identity and defined objectives and priorities for development of the LIG Nevestino - Kyustendil territory.
