Development of up-to-date agri-environmental regionalisation of the country by crops and administrative units for the purposes of the CAP Strategic Plan for the period 2021-2027

The development of agricultural science shows that the division of the country's territory separately into climatic and soil areas is not enough for the needs of agriculture. Climate- or soil-homogeneous areas have been found to be very heterogeneous in terms of crop growth and development. In order for agri-environment to fulfill its task of proper zoning of crops, it is necessary to identify the factors that limit or stimulate the growth, development and fruiting of crops, as well as the characteristics of the environment to be summarized in terms of the requirements of each crop in order to ensure the most appropriate and correct ratio between: • the climatic and soil characteristics of the separate regions and micro-regions; • the specific requirements of the cultures to the peculiarities of the environment; • the potential of the environment to provide the best possible conditions for growth and development of crops; • the possible optimal yield; • the capacity of farms for the production and use of agricultural products.
