"Improving biosecurity, hygiene and animal welfare measures on a dairy farm in a disadvantaged area of northwestern Bulgaria"

In order to prevent the spread and spread of animal diseases, it is very important to strictly follow biosecurity measures. Biosecurity is key to protecting any industrial farm. In this regard, a project proposal has been prepared for the purchase of tangible assets, which are in the context of implementing measures for the introduction of biosecurity and modernization of livestock farms for dairy cows and raw quality cow's milk. The applicant owns a registered livestock farm, according to Certificate №569 of 23.02.2017 with a capacity of: 60 pcs. dairy cows and 40 pcs. calves, located in the village of Dobrodan, district Lovech. The current project proposal is developed on the basis of 35 pcs. dairy cows, breeds Bulgarian Black Cattle; Bulgarian Brown Cattle; Holstein; Other, with an average milk yield of 6000 kg. annual milking on a cow. The assets provided for purchase are in accordance with the planned number of animals for breeding and mainly concern the processes of storage of raw cow's milk, providing quality feed for animals, providing a suitable microclimate in the barn, quality cleaning and maintaining optimal hygiene in the barn, according to the current legislation for introduction of biosecurity measures in industrial livestock farms.
