Mr. Milen Georgiev manages 18,837 decare agricultural land which he utilizes for open-air tomato farming. Totally, the arable land consists of one plot of land which he has rented based on a 10-year contract effective March 28, 2018. He is planning to expand the size of his farm by renting some more agricultural land which he will use to plant six decares of permanent crops, plum trees, while preserving the priority vegetable crops – open-air tomato farming. This transition to organic production in one segment of his farm, six decares of plum trees, will definitely contribute to the improvement of the climate and the environment. The expanded production activities within the farm will serve as a precondition for hiring additional workforce which will cause a positive impact on the job opportunities in the region.
