This young famer is looking after apricots and vegetables and is applying with a project on developing a sustainable orchard garden. The land is in Iskra village, Sitovo municipality, region of Silistra. He’ll expand the land on the farm by planting more crops and these will be plums. All of the crops will be bio. Oktay Sali is married and is hoping to improve his standard of living, as well as the living conditions for his family. He’s planning on investing in a fan sprayer. After he implements this business plan, his farm will become more competitive on the local and regional market. He’ll be looking after more land with permanent crops, he’ll provide temporary work for seasonal workers in a region with very high unemployment rates for the country, and will look to sell the produce either to the end user or on the nearby Romanian market. This young person will live better and will have long-term motivation to stay and develop his business in a village region, which helps to slow down the process of depopulation of Bulgarian villages.
