Supporting the process of creating a viable and sustainable farm of a young farmer orchard.

The beneficiary's holding is a plant breed associated with the cultivation of fruit trees / cherries and plums / and vegetables in the open air. It is located in the territory of the town of Kermen, Sliven municipality, Sliven. The plantations are located on three plots, both managed under ten-year lease contracts, and the third is the property of the applicant. During the current 2017/2018 economic year, the cultivated area is 23,846 dk: the cherries are 2,769 dk, the plums are 18,164 decares. Up to 1,500 cubic feet of melons are to be sown. It also manages 1,413 dk, which is set aside. During this year, the beneficiary has entered into a contract with a certification organization for the transition to organic cultivation of orchards. It plans to increase the size of the arable land and the cultivated orchards by purchasing or renting 6,000 dk. agricultural land and creating a plantation of plums that also grows in a biological way. Currently, the applicant does not have the necessary agricultural equipment and uses external mechanized services. Therefore, his intention is to invest part of the funds in the purchase of a sprayer that meets the needs of the farm to carry out part of the agro-technical activities in the plantations. Along with improving the economic condition of the holding, the applicant will do the necessary to acquire skills and competences by passing training on basic environmental protection issues in the agricultural sector under Measure 1.1 "Vocational Training and Skills Acquisition".
