Supporting the process of creating a viable and sustainable farm of a young farmer orchard.

The beneficiary's holding is a plant growing, located in the village of Strupets, Sliven municipality, Sliven region. She is involved in the cultivation of orchards - peaches and plums. During the current economic year 2017/2018, 16,534 dk of plums and 4,004 dk of peaches are processed. 8,188 decares of land are managed. Plantations are located in total of 5 PIs / landed properties / managed under ten-year lease agreements. All areas are irrigated, all of which have a drip irrigation system. In the current year, the beneficiary has entered into a contract with a certification organization for the transition to organic cultivation of orchards. It plans to increase the size of the managed orchards, which will also grow in a biological way. In order to fulfill the goals of the business plan, the applicant plans to set up 4,498 decares of plums and 3,690 decares of fruit plantations on the fallow areas. Currently, it does not have the necessary agricultural equipment and uses external mechanized services. Therefore, her intentions are to invest part of the funds in the purchase of a fertilizer trailer for carrying out part of agro-technical activities related to the activity on the holding - the fertilization of the plantations. In addition to improving the economic condition of the holding, the applicant will do the necessary to acquire skills and competences by passing training on basic environmental protection issues in the agricultural sector under sub-measure 1.1 "Vocational training and skills acquisition". The project also sets goals with social focus - opening new jobs. The candidate's foresight is to create additional employment by opening a new workplace with a production focus on the farm.
