Development of a viable and sustainable agricultural holding on the territory of the village of Dabene, municipality of Karlovo, Plovdiv district, through cultivation of perennials.

Hristo Seizov is a registered agricultural producer since April 2017. Agricultural production is the main activity of the farmer. The holding is specialized entirely in the fruit and vegetables sector. It is located in the village of Dabene, Municipality of Karlovo, Plovdiv and is located on three neighboring plots with a total area of 20,938 decares. The land is used by the applicant with a rent contract, registered at the Registry Office and at the Municipal Office of Agriculture in Karlovo. He grows plums, cherries and sour cherries in his farm. For the total available area, the farmer has signed a contract for control and certification of the organic production with "BIOS ELLAS" logo with the "INSTITUTE FOR CONTROL OF BIOLOGICAL PRODUCTS AD". It intends, during the implementation of the project, to increase its holding with 6 decares of permanent prunes, which will also cultivate according to the rules of organic production and to buy agricultural machinery and inventory. The farmer does not have his own and he uses external mechanized services for the agro-technical operations on the farm. He manages his own farm and uses the help of family members for certain agro-technical operations. Mr. Seizov wants to appoint a person on a labor contract, which will allow the implementation of all agro-technical activities in time and will positively influence the employment in the area. The increase in the area of the holding and the crops cultivated on it in a biological way, improved mechanization and the employment of labor will help to create a viable and sustainable farm. The transition to organic production will increase the applicant's income and hence its competitiveness. Organic crops contribute to environmental protection, increase resource efficiency and mitigate the effects of climate change.
