Development of a viable and sustainable agricultural holding on the territory of the municipality of Hissarya, Plovdiv district, through cultivation of perennial crops and potatoes.

The farm of Dimitar Georgiev is located in the village of Krasnovo and village of Belovitsa, municipality of Hissarya, Plovdiv. The farm is specialized entirely in the sector "Fruits and vegetables" and has a total area of ​​28,819 decares. The applicant uses the agricultural land with a rent contract, registered at the Registry Office Plovdiv and at the Municipal Office of Agriculture in the town of Hissarya. It consists of four plots of fruit plums and potatoes. For the area planted with potatoes, the farmer has signed a contract for control and certification of organic production with "INSTITUTE FOR CONTROL OF BIOLOGICAL PRODUCTS AD" with the logo "BIO ELLAS". It intends, during the implementation of the project, to increase its holding with new perennials, also from prunes, cultivated according to the rules of organic production. The transition to organic production will increase the applicant's income and hence its competitiveness. Organic crops contribute to environmental protection, increase resource efficiency and mitigate the effects of climate change. In connection with its activity, the applicant intends to purchase a potato-maker. Mr. Georgiev's wish is to appoint three people on a labor contract, which will allow the implementation of all agro-technical activities on time and will positively influence the employment in the area. The purchase of agricultural machinery and equipment will lead to an acceleration of the modernization and the objective self-sufficiency of the farm. The same will take an 8-hour course on environmental protection in agriculture.
