Starting aid for the development of the livestock farm of Dimitar Venchov Topalski in the village of Padesh, Blagoevgrad municipality, for raising bee families

The project proposal aims to obtain starting aid for the development of the farm of the young farmer Dimitar Venchov Topalski, located in the village of Padesh, Blagoevgrad municipality, Blagoevgrad district. At present, he raises 180 bee families in his animal farm with № 551075003 /old № 27470147/ according to Certificate № 309 on the grounds of Art. 137, para. 6 of the Law on Veterinary Activities. The initial economic size of the farm, measured in the standard production volume is BGN 25 500.00. As part of the implementation of the project, the farmer is expected to increase the economic size of the farm with BGN 8 125.00 by increasing the number of bee families by 65 more bee families. In order to improve the mechanization on the farm, the farmer will purchase a long-term material asset - a centrifuge for honey needed to extract the honey. At present, 150 beehives are bred in a biological way and it is foreseen the entire farm, including the beehive families envisaged for the increase, to be included in the organic control and certification program for biological cultivation and production.Within a period of 9 months from the conclusion of the grant agreement, the farmer will pass a course of 150 hours to acquire professional skills and competencies in the field of agriculture as required, as well as a course on the problems of environmental protection in agricultural sector. In the middle of 2020 the farmer will hire 1 employee in the farm, which will help him in preparing and realizing the planned increase in the farm as well as in the work on the already growing farm. The final outcome of the project will be a viable, modernized and competitive farm for bee families.
