The applicant uses his / her own agricultural land and one with a rent contract, registered at the Registry Office Plovdiv and at the Municipal Office of Agriculture in the town of Hissarya. The farm grows prunes, pears and greenhouse tomatoes. For the entire available area the farmer has signed a contract for control and certification of organic production with "INSTITUTE FOR CONTROL OF BIOLOGICAL PRODUCTS AD" with the logo "BIO ELLAS". The farmer plans to undergo training that includes at least 8 school hours on major environmental issues in agriculture. It intends, during the implementation of the project, to increase its holdings with new perennial crops also from prunes which grow under the rules of organic production and buy agricultural machinery and inventory. Mr. Ivanov wants to appoint three people on a labor contract, which will allow the implementation of all agro-technical activities on time and will positively influence the employment in the area. The increase in the area of the holding and the crops cultivated on it in a biological way, improved mechanization and the employment of labor will help to create a viable and sustainable farm. The transition to organic production will increase the applicant's income and hence its competitiveness. Organic crops contribute to environmental protection, increase resource efficiency and mitigate the effects of climate change.
