Development of a viable and sustainable agricultural holding on the land of Krasnovo village, Hissarya municipality, Plovdiv district, by growing greenhouse tomatoes, pepper, plums and pears.

The farm of Pepa Hristeva is located in the village of Krasnovo, municipality of Hissarya, Plovdiv. The holding is specialized in the sector "Fruits and vegetables" and has a total area of 17,601 decares. The applicant uses his / her own agricultural land and one with a rent contract, registered at the Registry Office Plovdiv and at the Municipal Office of Agriculture in the town of Hissarya. He grows greenhouse tomatoes, field peppers, plums and pears on his holding. For the entire available area the farmer has signed a contract for control and certification of organic production with "INSTITUTE FOR CONTROL OF BIOLOGICAL PRODUCTS AD" with the logo "BIO ELLAS". He intends to increase his holding by renting or buying additional land amounting to 7 decares and planting with 5 acres of cherries, 1 acre of potatoes and 1 acre of pepper-open production. The whole farm will grow according to the rules of organic production. The high requirements of Bulgarian consumers for food quality and their preference for local food is also driven by the growing demand for organic and quality products, which will increase the applicant's income and hence its competitiveness. Organic crops contribute to environmental protection, increase resource efficiency and mitigate the effects of climate change. Hristeva's wish is to appoint three people on a labor contract, which will allow the implementation of all agro-technical activities on time and will positively influence the employment in the area. For the needs of their holding, the applicant intends to buy a milling machine. She plans to undergo training that includes at least 8 school hours on major environmental issues in agriculture.
