Rehabilitation of Republikanska Str. from municipal road BGS1210 to the crossroad with Odessa Str. ans Odessa Str. New construction from Odessa Str., building Tzar Simeon Veliki Str., Tzar Asen Veliki Str. and Khan Tervel Str. in Sozopol.

One of the main problems of the municipality of Sozopol, as well as of the majority of municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria, is the poor state of the street network. Due to insufficient investment in maintenance and renewal of the street infrastructure, the time for traveling increases and the economic and social attractiveness of the region, especially among the young people, is reduced. Poor infrastructure makes the region hard to access. The budget funds operated by the municipality of Sozopol as well as those provided for capital expenditures are insufficient for the realization of such projects. This is also the main obstacle to the municipal management to implement investment projects for complete renovation of the settlements, which would be a basis for raising the living standards in the municipality. Therefore, it has pledged to phase out these activities by giving priority to more busy and economically viable sites, with the help of various European programs. The streets covered by this project are undoubtedly one of them. This project proposal is a concrete step towards resolving the above-mentioned problem. The region of Sozopol is an attractive tourist destination for both Bulgarian and foreign tourists. The streets undergoing reconstruction in the current project proposal are key arteries in the town of Sozopol and connect the municipal center with a higher class road. This requires the maintenance of their good and safe condition, which is a prerequisite for increasing the attractiveness of the city for tourists looking for social, street and road infrastructure, respectively for attracting investments. The project also envisages the construction of new streets as the extension of the street network will improve the accessibility and quality of the services provided. This in turn will positively influence the attraction of investments and the better development of the tourist potential of the municipality.
