"Renovation of the central town square" Pencho Jankulov "in the town of Knezha, municipality Knezha"

The project proposal provides the renovation of a central town square "Pencho Jankulov" in the town of Knezha to ensure a sustainable and dynamic town center with improved living standards and a new social environment through new green and spatial solutions as well as physical regeneration of the central town area. It is planned to replace the existing pavement with new clinker pavers, which are in three different colors – yellow, red and brown. It is envisaged to install tactile strips for attention and information which will serve as a reference point for disadvantaged people. The project also includes the installation of galvanized drainage grids with a concrete gutter which will take the rainwater into the existing network. An installation of the new urban furnishings is planned - concrete stands for bicycles; concrete benches; concrete flower pots; concrete bins for garbage; railings; parking limiters; lighting bodies. The design solution provides insularly separated seating areas. In all of the insularly separated seating areas there are places to sit, as well as a garbage can. Some of them will also have new colorful tree species. Others will have only benches. Between the seating areas there will be separated flowerbeds, as well as built-in lighting. There are ramps provided to overcome the displacement of the terrain. The ramps connect all the streets, with which the town square borders. The normative tactile stripes under Ordinance 4 of July 1, 2009 to indicate the direction in the case of disadvantaged people are also envisaged. Elements will be repaired to overcome the displacement of the terrain. It is planned a construction of new green areas in the western part of the square. In these areas, the tree species will be sown under a dendrological project. Irrigation will be provided for both the trees and the flower pots. The project also includes the construction of a new fountain, around which the insularly separated seating areas will be placed.
