Reducing the threat of forest fires on the territory of Ihtiman Municipality

This project is aimed at investing in the construction of fire-fighting infrastructure in order to improve the protection of forests owned by Ihtiman municipality from fires. The forests owned by Ihtiman municipality are located in the territory of the town of Ihtiman and the villages of Belitsa, Boeritsa, Borika, Buzikovtzi, Brdo, Vakarel, Venkovets, Verinsko, Zhivkovo, Mirovo, Muhovo, Paunovo, Poliantsi, Stambolovo and Chernyovo. The total area of ​​the forest territories of the municipality of Ihtiman is 12 777,5 ha. The territory of the municipality is classified with a high risk of forest fires according to Annex 5 of the Application Conditions.  This project provides for investments in a total of four activities laid down in the approved Forest Management Project , namely: 1. Creation of forecourt barriers; 2. Creation of mineralized strips; 3. Construction of forest roads; 4. Construction of water source for fire fighting. The implementation of the above described activities will protect a total of 4 239.90 ha of forest areas owned by Ihtiman municipality
